About Me

My name is Lee Ann Posavad. I am a member of a historical reenactment group, the Society for Creative Anachronism ( SCA ) whose function is the research and re-creation of pre 17th century history.

In the society I am known as Rainillt de Bello Marisco, a 15th century woman of Welsh origin who finds the means to support herself by sewing and embroidering .

I have been embroidering since I was in my early teens and when I found the SCA over 12 years ago I immediately became involved with researching forms of historical embroidery.

I am a member of the East Kingdom’s chartered embroidery guild : Athena’s Thimble where I hold a journeyman’s ranking as well as an Expert ranking in period smocking : or as I have termed it Pleatwork Embroidery.

Please enjoy the blog and would love to hear from you!!

Lee Ann
